潘铭燊（1945年1月22日生），游走于太平洋两岸的著名学者、作家。祖籍广东中山，生于香港。在香港接受教育至大学毕业，随留学美国，返港教书15年后，移居温哥华，获得加拿大国籍，又再返港任教，2003年返回美国，任职于国会图书馆。治学方向兼文学、历史、书志学，职业取向则兼大学教授与图书馆研究馆员。除大学时代投稿学生报用过笔名外，写学术论文及文艺创作一律只用真实姓名。
Ming Poon (born January 22, 1945), a scholar and writer who traverses both sides of the Pacific. With nativity in Guangdong's Zhongshan County, he was born in Hong Kong.
